A program that transforms Ansan Culture Plaza into a space of art in cooperation with SeoulInstitute of the Arts
A rough sketch is prepared with Shinansan Line construction site fences, wood, grass, etc. Through this citizen-participatory street art program, citizens can attach tapes on it to complete the work. As if forests are a shield of protecting trees and grass, participants make a “shield” together by creating a small forest in the urban plaza.
Rectangular structures made of waste materials symbolize the beauty of nature isolated in the middle of the city. Light is passed via the letters engraved in the structures and makes shades on the floor. It symbolizes communication and connection beyond spatial boundaries in the city and the harmony between urban life and nature.
It is the gate to the beginning of the 20th Ansan Street Arts Festival, which connects the festival and audience. Media arts and plants reminding of forests deliver the thoughts of life and ontological meanings, and make you think about how you treat living beings in the human world and nature.
